Hamilton, Ontario based rock combo Flash Johnson are an incrediblytight, energetic 3-piece cover band that never ceases to get the masseson their collective feet when they start to blast. For the past 4 years, Flash Johnson has been blowing the doors off every club they have been booked into. One of the keys to the success of this fine group is spot-on harmony vocals courtesy of brother’s Paul Mallard (Guitars, Vocals) and Jeff Mallard (Drums, Vocals). In addition, both brothers are ridiculously proficient on their respective instruments. In fact, Jeff has been
playing professionally since leaving diapers. Rounding things out, Mark Costa “The future of 5 strings” is gaining quite a reputation for his relentless, punishing bass assaults. In addition, his session work with hard-rockers “Tailgunner” is well documented. The Mallard brothers and Costa met and formed Flash Johnson while attending the prestigious Lou Diamond Phillips School of Acting in the summer of 2001. After ditching their studies and spending countless hours in the ol’ quarry mining up their favorite rock hits, the trio won rave reviews at their early gigs and never looked back.

Formed in Hamilton, Ontario in 1985, the band started with seven members – a threepiece rhythm section and four horns. The original mandate was to cover the Rhythm & Blues and Soul music of the 1960s, but as the band matured, more complex material, such as songs by Blood, Sweat & Tears and Tower of Power, was added to the repertoire. By the early 90s, the song list covered everything from Mustang Sally to Rod Stewart. At that time, a keyboard player was added and the new eightmember group now represented over 200 years of musical talent and experience.

Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Daryl tasted the wanderer's life at an early age, traveling Europe and North America with his parents before settling back in Ireland. Growing up to music as diverse as The Beatles and Stones to Slade and Led Zeppelin, Daryl's first paying job as a musician was at the age of fifteen and was a solo acoustic performance opening for a local band for which he received the equivalent of $5.00 and was slipped a pint of Guinness under the table.
After immigrating to Canada he became very active in the Niagara music scene, fronting the popular 80's rock band Tracy Kane. 1982 saw the release of their self-titled album on the H&S Records label, which was also home to another Canadian indie band, Helix.
Along the way Daryl has attained 4 Gold, 2 Platinum and 1 Double Platinum albums, 2 Juno nominations, the 1990 Much Music Video Award for the best Rock Video, and has had Top 40 hits with numerous writing and production credits.
After departing Helix in 2002 Daryl continues to tour and record with own band Scurvy Dogz. He is also much sought after as a session musician, recording and performing with such local hero's as Ray Lyell and The Rick Rose Band and GM Paterson and Overdrive.
Over the past several years Daryl has garnered a strong following as a solo performer and has returned to his acoustic roots, bringing a seasoned and experienced ease to his performances. Drawing from a wide variety of musical styles and influences, (including his Celtic heritage) which showcase his vocal and instrumental talents; Daryl leaves his audiences wanting more.
A solo acoustic show…with attitude!
You take the lead singer/guitar player from the band Tone Deaf, give him a microphone, an acoustic guitar and a harmonica or five, and you have Mono Tone. Cleaver name, eh? So, let's just assume for the sake of argument this guy, Mark, has a clue and can sing and play guitar. Fairly safe bet there. So, what sets him apart from everyone else? To start with, he will play almost anything on an acoustic guitar. I mean, from Van Morrison to Van Halen, nothing is sacred. Add to that a large repertoire of songs, an "If I can hum it, I can play it" attitude, and a sense of humour to boot, you get Mono Tone.
Mark has been performing since he was thirteen, acoustically and in bands. He is considerably older than that now, by the way. One of his favourite types of venues has always been the campfire at the cottage routine. This is what he likes to bring to the every venue he plays... a "pull up a picnic table and join in' kind of vibe! An audience is all the accompaniment he needs…no request is off limits…the human jukebox…just don't ask where to put the quarters!
From patios to large parties, Mono Tone can rise to any occasion. Pull up a pint and join in!

Not to mention his songwriting ability which can go from ballad to hard rock anthem, can stand up against anyone out there past or present. Phil is definitely one of rock's premier singer/songwriters currently active in the business today.

Jack of All Trades, Master of None
"Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute and it seems like an hour. Sit next to a pretty girl for an hour and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity!"
Mike Woods loves to perform, which is evident each and every time he sets foot on stage. He caters to his audience, accepting requests for favourite cover tunes, and performs his own material which is known to be very serious, thought provoking sometimes sad to the absolutely meaningless, inarticulate and uncultured, but always meant to be fun.
This talented Singer/Guitarist has honed his musical talents and entertainment skills over the past fifteen years to a point where each show is fresh and entertaining. The main essence of Mike's show is his unique ability to interact with his audience and create an atmosphere where everybody feels that they're part of the show.
New Country / Bluegrass
Listen closely and you'll hear a unique and versatile mix of harmonies that blend together perfectly whether it's classic country, smokin' bluegrass, traditional celtic and folk, or even down home rock'n'roll.
Their magnetic on-stage presence and quick wit can bring a house down. Hits like "Fox on the Run", "Honk on Bobo", and Alberta Bound" have become crowd favorites. Their recent European live album "Gone So Long" has become a must for all Good Brothers fans.
In an era when stars are manufactured at painfully young ages..., when everyone from your neighbor down the block to dear old Dad can attain seemingly instant celebrity status..., Jim Witter, the humble, unassuming, golden-throated tenor, who can paint a ballad with the delicacy of Serat and with the ferocity of a rousing rocker like Pollock, reached the summit of his stunning major-label debut, Forgiveness, the old-fashioned way: He climbed it. Step-by-step. Day-by-day. Year-by-year.
Growing up in the honeymoon / daredevil capital of the world - Niagara Falls, Canada, Rick spent his early years listening to Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond and Johnny Cash records.
Playing steadily, his reputation as a great live performer grew stronger in New York State and Pennsylvania and The Rick Rose Band was recognized as Top Original Act for 4 consecutive years as part of the Western New York Music Awards.
Rick now who spends most of his time in Nashville, New York, and Toronto, co-writes with hitmakers such as Desmond Child (Ricky Martin, BonJovi, Aerosmith).
Ok, let's be completely honest here...these guys have no freaken idea what the hell they are doing. They're just four beer guzzling part time musicians that were looking for a way to cover their bar tab. They started playing '70s rock because that's what they know, and presto, you have a classic rock band. Talent, no...good looks, mmm, not so much...partiers, oh yeah! Whatever works I guess.
"Never mind your daughters, hide your beer!"
Fortunately for them there are enough of you out there that love a good party and are lushes to boot. (Do not attempt to see a Tone Deaf show sober...just trust me on this one. -Ed.) Regarding the music, the theory is they "...play the songs the way the artist meant to record them." Of course they do! Whatever they want to believe...whatever makes your bunny jump!
